CAPE for INSTABILITY DESCRIPTORS

This table gives CAPE ranges assigned to instability descriptors in SPC forecast products. Product should specify which lifted parcel was used (i.e. MU for most unstable, ML for mixed-layer, SB for surface-based, etc.).

CAPE RANGE (m2 s-2)	TEXT DESCRIPTOR
0-1000	Marginally unstable.
1000-2500	Moderately unstable.
2500-4000	Very unstable.
4000+	Extremely unstable.
